Ek Se Sreshtha - Act to Transform
Five years. Three celebrations.
One vision — empowering women, educating children, and building stronger communities. The project aims to capture the journey, people, stories, and impact behind Ek Se Sreshtha.
As a creative media agency, Exprosight was entrusted with documenting three key events associated with the five-year milestone of Ek Se Sreshtha in Himachal Pradesh.
Objective
The programme follows a community-centric model in which teachers work with children within their local communities.
Rather than limiting the focus to academic learning, Ek Se Shreshtha places emphasis on the holistic development of children. Students receive free educational support along with learning materials and other resources.
The programme has also provided children with items such as:
- Books and notebooks
- Stationery and pencil boxes
- School bags with integrated study tables
- Shoes and tracksuits
- Learning resources
- Nutritional support, including protein shakes
- Other educational and developmental resources
Teachers have also been provided with laptops to support technology-enabled learning.
This creates a model where education, nutrition, resources, community participation and women’s employment come together as interconnected elements of social development.

Right to Education
Ek Se Sreshtha supports the Right to Education by providing children with free learning opportunities, books, school bags, study materials and nutritional support. The initiative helps make quality education more accessible while encouraging children’s overall growth and confidence.
Women Empowerment
Women are at the heart of the initiative, working as teachers and contributing to children’s education within their communities. This provides women with employment opportunities while enabling them to become active contributors to their families and society.
Social Development
By bringing together education, women empowerment and community participation, Ek Se Shreshtha contributes to sustainable social development. The initiative creates opportunities for children and women while strengthening communities through education, awareness and collective participation.
Curricular Activities
Ek Se Sreshtha goes beyond academics by encouraging children to participate in cultural and co-curricular activities that build confidence, creativity and a sense of identity. During the celebrations, students showcased their talent through performances, including Nati, the traditional folk dance of Himachal Pradesh. Such activities give children a platform to express themselves while connecting them with their local culture, traditions and heritage.

The five-year celebrations were graced by Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, whose presence added significance to the occasion. He interacted with the children, appreciated their performances and encouraged them to pursue education and their aspirations. The Governor also presented gifts and honoured participants, making the celebrations a memorable occasion for the students, teachers and the wider community.

These figures were reported around the five-year milestone and illustrate the programme’s reach and social dimensions. Public reporting also noted that more than 12,000 families had collectively saved over ₹5.40 crore through educational support provided under the initiative.
However, the impact of an initiative like this cannot be represented by numbers alone.
Behind every statistic is a child receiving learning support, a teacher receiving an employment opportunity, a parent experiencing reduced financial pressure, and a family seeing new possibilities for the future.
Special Guest - Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar
One of the distinguished personalities honoured during the programme was Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) Sanjay Kumar, PVC, a recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.
His presence added another dimension to the celebrations
Governor Kavinder Gupta honoured Sanjay Kumar during the programme, creating a significant moment of recognition that brought together two powerful themes—educating the next generation and honouring those who have served the nation.
